1.NEW YORK

New York City, which is geographically the largest city in the state and most populous in the United States, is known for its history as a gateway for immigration to the United States and its status as a financial, cultural, transportation, and manufacturing center. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, it is also a destination of choice for many foreign visitors. Both state and city were named for the 17th century Duke of York, James Stuart, future James II and VII of England and Scotland.

2.PARIS

Paris in French is the capital of France and the country’s most populous city. It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region. The city of Paris, within its administrative limits largely unchanged since 1860, has an estimated population of 2,203,817, but the Paris aire urbaine has a population of 11,769,433 and is one of the most populated metropolitan areas in Europe.

3.MADRID

Madrid is the capital and largest city of Spain. It is the third-most populous municipality in the European Union after Greater London and Berlin, and its metropolitan area is the third-most populous city by urban area in the European Union after Paris and London. The city is located on the river Manzanares in the centre of both the country and the Community of Madrid (which comprises the city of Madrid, this community is bordered by the autonomous communities of Castile and León and Castile-La Mancha.

4.MOSCOW

Moscow is the capital and the largest city of Russia. It is also the largest metropolitan area in Europe, and ranks among the largest urban areas in the world. Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, religious, financial, educational, and transportation centre of Russia and the world, a global city. It is also the seventh largest city proper in the world, a megacity. The population of Moscow is 10,524,400.

5.Wienna

Vienna is the capital of the Republic of Austria and also one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria’s primary city, with a population of about 1.7 million 2.3 million within the metropolitan area, which means more than 25% of Austria’s population, and is by far the largest city in Austria, as well as its cultural, economic, and political centre.

6.Prague

Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Nicknames for Prague have included “the mother of cities” “city of a hundred spires”, or Stov?žatá Praha in Czech and “the golden city” or Zlaté m?sto in Czech.
Situated on the River Vltava in central Bohemia, Prague has been the political, cultural, and economic centre of the Czech state for more than 1100 years. For many decades during the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague was the permanent seat of two Holy Roman Emperors and thus was also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire.

7.Rome

Rome is the capital of Italy and the country’s largest and most populated municipality , with over 2.7 million residents in 1,285.3 km2 while the population of the urban area is estimated by Eurostat to be 3.46 million. The metropolitan area of Rome is estimated by OECD to have a population of 3.7 million. It is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, on the Tiber river. The city has been one of history’s most powerful and important centres, being the home of the emperor during the Roman Empire and the Italian government. The city also has a significant place in Christianity and is the present day home of the Roman Catholic Church and the site of the Vatican City, an independent city-state run by the Catholic Church. Due to this, the city has often been nicknamed “Caput Mundi”  and “The Eternal City”. Also, Rome is widely regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful ancient cities.

8.Tokyo

Tokyo  is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan and is located on the eastern side of the main island Honsh?. Tokyo’s government also administers the twenty-three special wards of Tokyo, each governed as a city, that cover the area that was once the city of Tokyo in the eastern part of the prefecture.
The population of the special wards is over 8 million people, with the total population of the prefecture exceeding 12 million. The prefecture is the center of the Greater Tokyo Area, the world’s most populous metropolitan area with 35 to 39 million people  and the world’s largest metropolitan economy with a GDP of US$1.479 trillion at purchasing power parity in 2008.

9.Beijing

Beijing is a metropolis in northern China and the capital of the People’s Republic of China. Governed as a municipality under direct administration of the central government, Beijing borders Hebei Province to the north, west, south, and for a small section in the east, and Tianjin Municipality to the southeast.Beijing is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.

10.Sydney

Sydney is the largest city in Australia, and the state capital of New South Wales. Sydney has a metropolitan area population of approximately 4.34 million and an area of approximately 12,000 square kilometres. Its inhabitants are called Sydneysiders, and Sydney is often called “the Harbour City”. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants to Australia.
